    Description

    13 Coca-Cola ads
    1933-1939
This is an attractive collection of thirteen full-page color magazine advertisements published in the 1930s. They each measure 6.75 x 10 inches in size. They all were published as the back cover of issues of
    National Geographic
magazine, and are generally in good condition, showing some light scuffing or cover wear.
They promoted Coke during the Great Depression, and offer the drink as a bright spot for consumers in an era when many people were suffering.
One ad features a painting of bottles of Coca-Cola in a snowbank, by the famous artist and illustrator N. C. Wyeth, with the ad headline and text beginning:
Ice-cold every day in the year
Days are hot? Coca-Cola is cold,
    —ice-cold.
Weather depressing? Coca-Cola is refreshing—so refreshing.
Five of the ads show scenes in soda fountains, and one features a railroad worker.
The accompanying 13 photos show exactly what designs are included in this large group.
