It was prepared by the National Geographic Society, with paintings by noted illustrator Roy Andersen.
Among the animals depicted are the Wombat, Kookaburra, Echidna, Bustard, Brolga, Bandicoot, Koala, Platypus, Kangaroo, Wallaby, Dingo, Emu, and Tasmanian Devil.
It is titled
Australia: Land of Living Fossils
and was published in February 1979 as a supplement to
The National Geographic Magazine.
On the reverse side there is a political map of Australia showing cities, towns, roads, railroads, oil fields, airports, natural features, and Aboriginal lands.
