Description
Vintage Christmas Coke Ad From National Geographic Magazine Dec 1960Coca-Cola released its annual Xmas advertisement on the back cover of the December issues of National Geographic Magazine.
Second to last picture shows the back of the page. Cover of magazine shown for reference only. Will include in envelope because I happen to have it, it’s interesting historically and it doesn’t add to the postage.
Haddon Sundblom (American artist, 1889-1976)
Considered one of the most important creators of popular advertising imagery of the 20th century, Haddon Sundblom is best known for creating the iconic image of Coca-Cola’s Santa Claus, endowing him with a portly frame and a cheerful, grandfatherly demeanor. He also created the fictional icons. Aunt Jemima and the Quaker Oaks Quaker.
Condition
Paper shows some discoloration along the edges and has tanned slightly though uniformly with age. See photos for detail. No fading of colors. It’s just the glare of the daylight. No dank odors as magazine was stored indoors.
