Description
DAVID BOWIEThis is an ORIGINAL 1970 "The World of David Bowie" Decca LP signed on the back by David Bowie in vintage ballpoint pen. Bowie adds, "My thanks". The album was signed in Bridlington, East Yorkshire on June 28th, 1973. "The World of David Bowie" is a compilation album released in 1970 by Decca Records. It contains material from his first album, "David Bowie", as well as previously unreleased songs. The track listing was chosen by Bowie himself. What makes the piece so unique is the full signature and the fact that it was signed during the Ziggy Stardust tour. An extremely rare and desirable piece of Bowie/music history.
Additional info: This album is in great condition and is almost perfectly square with light wear to the corners and edges. The spine can be easily read. Any images showing "wavy or blotchy" areas are due to the reflection of taking the photos, they are shadows.
Why was it signed on the back? This album has a heavily laminated cover that is virtuously impossible to write on with ballpoint pen. Markers were quite uncommon back in 1973, with the exception of perhaps Japan. Hence, this ORIGINAL album was always signed on the cardboard back when it carries a vintage signature. The front has an absolutely beautiful headshot of a young Bowie.
Please review the images closely as they are part of the description. Contact me with any questions that you may have.
This is a decidedly early and uncommon signed David Bowie album.
