This type of rock is called Chert or also known as microchrystaline (quartz family). Naturally found in central Texas, and we collect daily. This rock is ideal for garden beds as it is sturdy and beautiful. Notice in the pictures the color variations from blues, reds, opaque and earthen color. Many of these rocks still hold their chrystals in tact so you will see a sparkle in the sunshine.
This is a wonderful alternative to volcanic or other natural rock use in garden beds.
