technique of [Tsumami zaiku] arranged in a wood box called Masu.
Tsumami zaiku is one of the traditional art crafts of Japan which has been passed down from about 200 years ago.It’s a picked up and folded a piece of cloth,laid out shape of flower.
This Masu is from Japanese cypress,handmade by craftsman.
Flower is made of cotton satin.
Gold leaf from Kanazawa is applied to the background.
The motif is the flowers that can be seen in Japanese gardens and parks this season (June):
