This is a truly rock solid entry level dj system that you simply hook up your laptop (after you download the included Serato Intro DJsoftware). One of the biggest parts of this system is understanding the difference between having a standard dj mixer or adj controller. Most often, a mixer will do the job. Yet when you are doing full blown dj from a laptop, the better solutionis having a controller that helps you to be able to physically initiate features of the software by pushing buttons ORstill using the mouse to run the software. The controller already has a built in sound card that will most likelybe superior to a laptops standard card. Plus you will be able to listen with your headphones in order to set up the nextsong. These are just some of the things that a controller does over using a mixer. Each have their pro's andcons. Even though these are 15 inch speakers, we still insist that when you have the budget, add 1 or two subwoofers because anyone that does full blown dj'n should always have subs. Trust us, huge difference. This system was simply designed to give you a solid start for dj your average size bar, small events. We have already tested the two speakers here in our shop which is 1,200 sq. space and for an average size bar like that, you should have no problem getting enough sound for the dance floor in front of the speakers. Still cannot stress it enough, get subs later no matter what type of system you get in life! Who should NOT purchase a system like this? Consumers who want afull karaoke & dj system should choose another type. This system is geared toward the consumer thatknows that 99% of what they want to do will always be dj'n. When you look at the Peaveyspeakers. They have many different levels. The Peavey PV Series just below this,then the new Dark Matter Series in this system. Then the PVX Series, totheImpulse Series, SP Series, etc. The next big step up will the the RBN Series whenPeavey releases them and we are already in love with those too. ADDING A SUBWOOFER? Thereason why you do not see a subwoofer in this system is because let'sbe very honest with ourselves. It would cost more to accomplishthis. This system was set up for this budget range, so do not be fooled bycheaper systems with a sub (risky proposition). When you are ready to add a subwoofer to yoursystem, you will NEVER go back to just a pair of speakers, it's thatsimple. & you cannot just buy any subwoofer either. In fact, if you buy any sub under9 for starters, most often you are asking for hidden long termproblems. A subwoofer adds a level of Bass tones that you simply cannot get outof just a regular speaker. Your standard speaker has a woofer anda horn. The horn pumps out your higher frequencies and your bottom woofer pumpsout your mids & bass tones. Having a subwoofer means you can take your 15 inch speakers and filter out more of the lower end bassand then rechannel that energy into the subwoofer and let it do ALL theheavy lifting for the strong bass notes. EVERY last customer that everpurchased a subwoofer LOVES the addition. Add it when you areready, or we can customize your auction to FIT YOUR EXACT NEEDS. WATTAGEGAME Through our experience. More than90% of what we see from countless ads online is the OUTLANDISH WATTAGERATINGS. Having to re-educate the consumer because so many people stretch the truth to it's max justto catch your attention. EXAMPLE; If we wanted to play the same game, we can rate the speakers anywhere from 1600 watts to 3200 watts. YET wefindthat disgusting to EVER trick consumers like this. We have seenso many systems on the market boasting 1,000-4000 watts of power thatrange for far less money! We can tell you that it simply is NOTthe real story! NOT the REAL wattage in many cases. The real wattage iswhat matters and DON'T let others fool you. You will NEVER see usadvertise a REAL 1,000-4000 watt system unless you see a price tag of THOUSANDS of dollars, it's that simple. Let'slook at it thisway. Let's say you have floor that is rated at 800lbs of weightit can hold. And a 800lb man walks on it once and it does not break, Whooo,luckyguy! Then that same man walks over it a few time and he falls through. Boy, did you see that coming! Now let's take a150lb guy and have him run all over the floor, it never breaks. Even though it said it will boast 800lbs of stress. It never told you what itreally meant. That the real weight load was 150lbs for stressfulusage. & the so called 800lbs was merely to tell you what it might handle for a millisecond ofheavy usage. You see why we hate power ratings! See why wedon't even like being called salespeople when we generally hate what thesales world stands for! COMPONENT SYSTEM -VS- APLUG IN PLAY CUSTOM BUILT SYSTEM Thissystem is a COMPONENT SYSTEM. Now what does that mean? Itmeans that you have several pieces of equipment that you put together when you get to the gig and then plug into the speakers. The PROSto having a component system are as follows and not limited to: Easier to transport if you must keep weight lower, less money having itin pieces, easier to possibly replace/mess with if repair/replace isneeded. Now, what are the CONS: Higher risk of damage if you don'ttransport properly, you see more wires when set up on the table, morethings to remember on how to put all together (not a bad thing, just adifference). Just remember, both methods are awesome based uponthe customers needs. Our personal preference would be to have every systemcustom built into a case, install a surge protection unit, custom fans,processor, eq, etc. Then you just stepped up your game. REMEMBER ONE THING: There is no shame in having to buy a cheapersystem if you need to. WHY A CORDED MIC AND NOT AWIRELESS MICROPHONE? The decision to go with a corded microphonehas more to do with budget than it does whether or not it is better. Here is the thing. You are within the entry level arena for a REAL dj starter system. In order to keep theprice down, you must go with a corded microphone. SURE, we couldeasily trick you and get you a cheap wireless mic, yet we would only be TRICKING you intothinking you got better quality. YES, we would rather you havewireless if you can afford to upgrade to that. Yet if you can live with a corded mic,you are simply getting better quality for the money you are spendingbecause when you buy wireless mics, you are paying A LOT for the wireless technology and NOTthe quality. Example; In this system, we would have to getyou a wireless mic that cost about 4 more to match moving to wireless. Well worthit, just that this system design was not meant to have it in there likesome of our other ads WHY NO LAPTOP, (WE HAVEOTHER ADS WITH LAPTOP Sure, before more and more people wereeducated by a truly honest company. The one thing that we hatedseeing was so many sellers would make you think you needed to buy a special laptop. Wesimply know that many of the customers we speak to can simply use a laptop that they already have. & if they do need a laptop,we have other auctions for that. Plus the budget of this systemwould not allow for it. Never forget this: We normally NEVER endorseany laptop under 0 for professional use. WISH LIST THAT DID NOTFIT INTO THE BUDGET Technically, the laptop stand was a luxuryitem that cost about .99 in this system. & yes, you couldremove it if you wanted to save money. Yet, it is such an awesome piece to have! What are some of theother wish list things that would round this system out? Getting bags/cases for your speakers & dj controller. Or upgrading towireless mics. & if you can live without the laser light,then use it toward upgrading to wireless mics.
