    T
his is a fine Jews (Jaw) Harp made by Zolton Szilagyi, in
Kesckemet, Hungary.  I always thought that Zolton made the best, most musical Jews Harps in the world.  Perhaps not as pretty as some,... they had the fullest, richest and best musical qualities.  Zolton was precise in his tuning as well.  There are two identical harps in the Keys of F and D#.  (DIS in German) (Forgive my "tin" ear but they both sound about the same to me.)
These harps has been stored for about 20 years and only tested, never really played.  So, they are in near-new condition.  Blued steel frames with German spring-steel tongues.
Zolton told me that the "secret" to his harps was that he used the finest German spring steel for the tongue or reed.  He showed me a roll of it and told me that it would make hundreds of Jews Harps but cost over 00.  The other "secret" was Zolton's crimp... of the reed to the frame.  He had developed a press that did this perfectly and consistently every time.  He told me NOT to take a photograph of it when I visited.
Zolton was a man of great imagination and he had scores of different models of Jews Harps as his mood demanded.  They often had fanciful names that Zoltan had heard and liked.
Recently, I sold a giant harp that Zoltan named "The Totem."  They are quite rare and expensive.  I'm not exactly sure of the name of these harps although they are identical to the big "Totems" only 3" in length rather than 4.5".  Zoltan often called such smaller harps "Mini" and so I am calling them "Mini Totems."  That's either what Zontan called them or... he would approve.
Few Jews harps were so elongated and  had such a distinctive narrow shape.  These harps, being smaller produce a much higher tone than the big "Totem"  and are easier to play quickly.  Although a beginner can produce a nice sound, some expertise might be required to use it musically
I use a macro-lens and try to post very clear, magnified pictures so that buyers can see, for themselves, what I'm describing.
I am posting a short audio clip of this actual instrument's sound.  (D#) You'll have to copy and paste the link.  Excuse my playing.

These are extremely hard to find.  I looked through Zoltan Szilagyi's older catalogs and cannot find any examples although I'm certain that Zoltan created these.  As close as I could find was the full size "Totem" that sells for about 5.00.  I'll price these considerably lower.
I'll ship this instrument, USPS, First Class, small box for .00.  If the buyer wishes, I can also ship it USPS, small box Priority for .50.  CONUS ONLY, (USA), please.  International buyers contact me BEFORE buying
