Description
Original 1963 magazine advertisement in fair condition. Yellowing (aging), some tearing, wrinkling and damage/discoloration due to the prior use of transparent tape.Item is framed, but I don't know if it was done by an individual or professionally done. Item is not under glass and the paper the ad is on hasn't been sufficiently protected. I recommend the buyer have the item professionally reframed and put under glass or protect it in some other way.
This ad isn't as well known as some other ads from the 50s and 60s, but is still an iconic image. In this case, you can tell the Coca-Cola Marketing department targeted young adults, with this "Coke and a Dance" ad. This ad came out in 1963, right before the 1960s "Youth Revolution". Can you imagine this type of innocent image and message resonating with young adults just 4-5 years later?
Also, nostalgic TV buffs may notice the reference to "Watch Rawhide and Perry Mason weekly on CBS." printed in the header, footer or margins.
Even though the ad has some damage (as described above), this is a must-have piece for anyone collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia. I'm offering it at a great price because I'd rather sell it and let the ultimate owner preserve it the way they want as opposed to me guessing what that should be.
